FINALLY!!!!!
After 3 long months.., Dan started work today at the University of Utah. He'll be working at the Neurobehavior HOME clinic as a behaviorist. These last few months have been a challenge for our little family. But along the way, we've felt incredibly lucky and blessed to have such great family and friends who helped and supported through out it all.
We are are ecstatic about so many aspects of this new job. We are thrilled that in this economy, Dan's found a job making about what his salary used to be and even a touch more. We LOVE that the job is 7 miles from our home and Dan will not have a 40 minute commute every day! We are excited for the benefit of half off tuition to the University. Dan can eventually get his doctorate he's always wanted and who knows.., maybe when the kids are a bit bigger..., I'll even go back and get my masters. We can't wait to be able to get back into our routine and schedules now that Dan's back working. We are elated for the discount to the University's bookstore.., especially when football season starts and we are stocking up on the new garb for the games. We are excited for the flexibility of the job and the ability to work four ten hour shifts if desired. And let's be honest..., being huge Utah fans..., we're thrilled to be working for the U!

Distressing
Some folks I'm sure think I distress everything..., and I pretty much do these. The fact of the matter is.., I distress out of necessity and not always because I like the look. Mason and Maya are incredibly hard on everything they touch. Maya gnaws on the edge of the coffee table daily...., Mason slams his cars into the kitchen chairs...., and that's just the start of it all. I distressed Mason's bed (which I actually like the look for his bed) in hopes that it'd hide the nicks and scratches that would inevitably come.
..., it's ok looking..., not my first choice..., but there's only so many knife dents one table can handle from a 2 year old before you opt to distress.

Christmas Morning
Though this was Mason's third Christmas, this was the first Christmas he was aware of what was going on and completely into. He loved setting up the tree and breaking Christmas ornaments. He was excited for Santa and presents. He loved the snow and constantly asked to make snowmen. He spent hours making his Nativity set figurines dance around while singing 'Jingle Bells' or some sort of version close to that. It was a fun season to spend with him. Christmas morning Mason was filled with the same excitement he's had throughout the entire season.
Santa left Mason a note on his art easel. Please note the reindeer 'paw'. A not thinking mommy forget that reindeer's are actually cloven hoofed animals and do not have paws. Daddy got a good laugh out of it. It was, however, Mason favorite part of the note. He pressed his little hand right up to the paw print.
Maya got her first baby doll. She loves gnawing on the baby's nose. She should have it completely gnawed off here in a matter of a few weeks.
Daddy and Mason in their Matching Christmas PJ's. Maya even had University of Utah PJ's.

It was a Christmas miracle......, Mason shared his toy!!!!! Okay.., for only like a minute.., but I'm still counting it!
