Christmas kisses from Daddy.
Mason with all his toys. He couldn't be happier.
The Christmas Tree.
A Mexican chili pepper tee from grandma and grandpa.
One of Mason's favorites gifts was his soft blanket with different textured tabs all around it.Mason loved spending time with his grandma. He was all smiles when she would talk or sing to him.

Mitla - Oaxaca, Mexico

Mitla was a weaving town. In Oaxaca, each little town surrounding the city specialized in a trade. One town would weave, another made black pottery, another made wood carvings, and the list goes on.
Like most towns surrounding Oaxaca, Mitla had ruins as well. When the Spaniards came into Mexico in the 1500's they took from the ruins to build their church.
Though the church is incredible, it made me sad to think how they destroyed this history for their gain.
Mason hanging out in the shade.
Grandpa O
Hey look! It's another tomb!
This is the symbol of eternity. It's all over the ruins

Mommy and Mason find some shade. The sun was so hot. Poor little Mason got his first sunburn this day, yet another first for the trip.

Tule - Oaxaca, Mexico

Tule was the quaintest little town. We loved it so much we actually went there twice! Their gardens were well manicured and kept. All their trees and bushes were clipped in a shape or an animal.
Tule is also home to what is believed the largest tree in the world.
This tree is massive and hard to express in just a few photos. It is 43 meters around and 44 meters tall. It's basically a short fat thing.
Hundreds of little birds called this tree home. They were every where in the tree. Because of the bird's color, you could barely see them.

Yagul Ruins - Oaxaca, Mexico

Linda, Dan and Mason at the entrance of a tomb.
Another tomb, they're everywhere...
Grandma and Grandpa O.
Linda, Mason and Chibbi Chibbi, that's the name we gave the figure to the left of Linda.
A busy day of hiking the ruins made Dan a little hungry.

Monte Alban - Oaxaca, Mexico

MONTE ALBAN WAS AMAZING!
We loved hiking around ruin after ruin during or vacation. Monte Alban was the biggest. They believe this land was the home to Jaredites years ago. Mason couldn't take the sun and also the possibility of Mommy falling and hurting him again, so he stayed at the house with Grandma. Grandpa was our tour guide.

Grandpa and I chose to sit out hiking up the last set of stairs.
