ROCK ON!

The Fourth of July we spent at our humble abode with friends, a little BBQ (ok.., and king crab and shrimp and .., well just about everything yummy to eat), a few fireworks and ROCK BAND! Our friends brought it to play for the evening. I'm sure by now most of you have heard of this and even tried this delightful video game. Why has it taken me so long to try?!?!?! Though Dan made a great drum star, he was hands down the best on vocals!
Yes.., that is my lip I'm biting as I play. Come one..., I was concentrating! I've been opposed to video games in our home. I get so easily sucked into them and I think they are a waste of time..., this game, however, may become the exception. I'll keep you posted.

More Summertime Fun

Daddy got Mason his first ice cream cone.., and yes, it was love at first sight. Mason ate it all.., cone and all! We did help him a bit by removing the paper around the cone. If we hadn't.., that would have been in his belly as well!
PS - Meredith.., does the bib look familiar?

Our Little Fish

Mason loves water! The love of water started when we was only a few weeks old. Even at his fussiest time, we could start a bath and he would calm down immediately when he was placed in the water. Lately, he'll hear the shower water start and back a b-line to the bathroom. He'll pull the shower curtain back and lean in as far as possible to get him self in the water. He'll do this until who ever is in the shower finally lets him in. I know.., I know.., we're already giving in to his demands. He has a small pool out back that we'll play in most morning..., but it just isn't the same as 'big' pool.We are so lucky to have my girlfriend Amy's 'big' pool to use at her condo. Mason absolutely loves it. We went this morning with his cousin and he laughed the whole time. I love that our boy is such a happy kid. We really lucked out with him. Mason's cousin wasn't quite done swimming when Mason was done. So.., he and I lounged around and ate veggie puffs. Mmmmm. Do you just love the robe?!?!? I think it's so cute! It's part of his 'pool attire'.

Family Time

Last week, trying to avoid the high 90 degree weather in Salt Lake, Dan, Mason and I drove up to Park City where it's typically 10 degrees cooler. It was worth the drive to get out of the heat. We had no agenda. We walked around the outlets and had a picnic at a park. It was so relaxing and nice to spend time with our little family. Mason is even starting to enjoy crawling around on the grass. He realizes that there's objects out there that he just has to grab, touch or squeeze and it's completely worth the funny feeling grass on his knees to get them. He's in this phase of seeing how much food he can possibly shove in his mouth at one time. Please note the cheeks below.
On the way home, Mason was tuckered out and passed out in his car seat. With a sleeping Mason we made a slow trip back to Salt Lake through Emigration Canyon with the top of the jeep off. I love the summertime!
