Is it 2 months or 9 weeks?

Mason is 2 months old! Or.., is he 9 weeks old. This has been the controversial discussion in our home lately. Months verse weeks? At what point do you switch over? I lean more to the 'months' at this point. I think he's old enough to make the switch. Anyway, I can't believe he's already 2 months. Time has flown by.., or perhaps it's just that we're so sleep deprived, we don't really know what day or time it is and thus time is 'flying' in our eyes. Either way...., our boy is 2 months! YEAH! We're just that much closer to him sleeping through the night. He now weighs 11 lbs 5 ounces and is 23 inches long. He's 50% for height and the size of his head. He's 45 % for weight. All this means.., is he pretty much average in those areas. He had his first set of shots today and at the end of it all, both he and his mommy were in tears by the end of it. I'm not sure we can handle many more appointments like that one!

The Wonder of Velcro

Mason has an incredible talent of being able to pull his arms out from the tightest of tight swaddled blankets. We even had the nurses show us in the maternity ward how to wrap him tight and still our little Houdini frees his arms each time. We recently up graded to a snuggle Velcro wrap and have been very happy with the results.

Now his arms no longer flail around, waking himself up sooner than he should be. They are snugly secured with the wonderful invention of Velcro. It seems the Velcro is even stronger enough to fight off even the toughest of escape artist.

Utah vs. UCLA

The University of Utah played nationally ranked (number 11) UCLA this past Saturday. Most U fans thought for sure it'd be a huge blow out. For those of you that don't follow Utah football like our family does, Utah lost their first 2 games and 4 starters from their line during those games due to injuries. Needless to say.., they've had a rough start. With that in mind we thought this would be a perfect first game to take Mason to. We could leave at half time and not miss much except the U playing poorly and another loss. Little did we know that the U would completely dominate, making the game not only a win for Utah, but also a huge upset on the college football scene. Mason loved every second of it. Though he appears to be awake in the photos, he surprisingly slept through the majority of the first half !

The Prince arrives...., and our lives will never be the same

Mason entered our lives on July 25th, 2007 at 11:43am. This is a shot when he was maybe a few hours old. He seems harmless enough.Since this time he has successfully turned 'OUR' house into 'HIS'. Any open space has been abducted by swings, bouncy chairs and other baby necessities. Clean floors have been replaced with drops of milk from late night feedings. Bedroom dressers are now make-shift changing tables. Hampers over flow with tiny clothes and random miniature socks. Our world has changed!

The Start

I'm feeling the pressure to start this blogging thing. Everyone these days are doing it.., thus, me being unable to resist peer pressure have caved. This is the start of our family blog. As you can tell from the title, my creativity is already blooming and these postings should be a joy to read. That's sarcasm if you didn't sense that.

Anyway.., this is our little famly these days. Mason is the short one in the middle.
