Geode Hunt'in

One of our summer adventures was a little Geode digging trip.  While my sister and her crew were in town back in July, we set off in to the desert with no road map and just my dad for directions.  Needless to say, we saw this below for HOURS.
We then came across this Pony Express stop in the middle of no where.  This was pretty cool to see.   This is where they'd stop to change out their horses and get food and rest.

Our little Nissan was on dirt BUMPY roads for HOURS.
We FINALLY got to the geode beds and they kiddos LOVED it.  Mason and Ethan.  Mason was Ethan's side kick for the entire 2 weeks they were here.  Mason LOVED hanging out with his cousins.
Besides being crazy hot, the kids thought it was so neat to find their own crystals
Maya just loved the back hoe.

 Grandpa with Ethan and Mason

Grandpa had buckets for each person to fill up.  Mason and his 'treasures'.  Poor kid couldn't even life his haul.  Can you see how red his little cheeks are?
After the geodes.., it was back in the car for a few more hours of nothing but driving.  Thank goodness for fairly good kiddos and for a DVD system in our car!

Our Poor Little Guy

At Mason's 4 year check up, his pediatrician mention how abnormally large Mason's tonsil were.  He asked a few questions about his sleeping habits.  With each yes answer things started to make a little more sense.  After consulting with our ENT, it was confirmed.  Our little guy had sleep apnea because of his ginormous tonsils and we had no idea.  Apparently it's fairly common in kids and they typically will out grown it at some point.  After weighing our options, Dan and I decided to have his tonsils taken out.  With him being young, it's so much easier than an adult and will significantly help his sleep patterns
Here's our cute little guy, drugged with Verset and watching cartoons.  He has no idea what is about to come.
This is Mason less than 24 hours after his tonsil coming out.
Unfortunately, he didn't stay feeling that great and day 3 and 4 have been rough.  Our poor little guy is having a rough go.  They say 5 - 7 days for kiddos is the recovery...., so we'll see what tomorrow brings for us!

Hill Airforce Museum

Want a free and fun activity to do with the kids?   Hill Airforce Museum is it!  Dan's been wanting to take the kiddos up here for some time now and with Dan working only a few hours on Fridays (we LOVE that about his job!!) we had no excuse why not to go!
Despite the little man's face, he had a fantastic time!

 This was the kid's favorite!

Can you see the propellers on this baby?!?!  It was HUGE.

Partners in Crime

These two kiddos may look harmless enough.., but don't fooled.  These two stealthy ones snuck out of the house while mom was in the shower to go get cookies next door at grandma Werhli's house.   And this was all before breakfast.  Love you guys!!!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

Summer has been a BUSY one for the Ontiveros crew and it's been hard to keep up with blogging all the fun stuff we've been doing!!! Our 4th of July was GREAT!
We started out with breakfast with some friends.
Then we had a little bike riding parade with a bunch of kiddos.

Grandpa Ketchum even gave Mason's bike a try.

How cute are these two guys???

Later that afternoon we had friend's over for a BBQ......,
