4th of July

Yes, I realize it's September!  Like I said..., we've really enjoyed our summer and who wants to be inside blogging when there's fun to be had?  I love the Fourth or as Maya refers to it, 'American Day'.  I love that we have family and friends at our home off and on all day.  It's relaxing and fun.  We eat yummy food.., chat.., and of course have a fabulous firework display.  We started our day off with the tradition neighborhood pancake breakfast and bike parade.

We could barely get the kiddos off their bikes to eat.
Lining up for the fireworks.  I just wanted a good one of all three...., how about a good one of each of them in three different photos?  I guess that will have to do for now.
Mason thinks he's big enough to help.., and Dan apparently does too.  Mason helps throw a few of the snakes in the road.  We didn't head to Wyoming this year for the goods.  Instead I found a fairly good groupon for the fireworks.  The fireworks did however come with scantily clad women adorning the packages?!?!  Are you kidding me??? I guess they need to advertise where ever they can???

Grandma and Grandpa Werhi's had a zillion.., no joke.., a zillion light sticks for all the kiddos. How did we get so lucky to have such great neighbors?  The kids danced.., jumped and ran all about with the glow sticks.

Mason made connected a few dozen.

Do you think they had fun?  Like I said.., I LOVE the 4th!  I love that my family does too!  Hope every one had a 'Happy American Day!'

Mason turns 5!!!!!

July 25th, 2012, our baby boy turned 5!  I can't believe it!  He is so big to me..., such a little man.  We started the day with presents from mom dad and Maya
Followed by breakfast in bed.., Mason's request.  He wants to do this almost every day and almost every day I say no..., it's gross eating in bed.  So for his birthday, he got his wish.  He was so funny and knew exactly what he want to eat as well.  He wanted 2 dippy eggs to be the eyes and bacon for the mouth to make a smiley face. I added the eye brow toast.

Mason always wanted a Lego Party and thanks to Pinterest.., that's what he had!

He invited 3 of his buddies over.  We built tons of different lego things..., the cars.., towers..., monsters, etc.  I'm impressed by the boys imaginations!

He opened a few gifts

Blew out the candles on his lego cake
The party ended with light sabers (made from pool noodles) fights out back.

I loved when the boys all ganged up on Dan.  He's just a big kid at times.
Mason is fun, energentic, and always thinking.  He is very smart and is developing quite the sense of humor.  Mason loves to build things and play the wii with his buddy Bjorn or his dad.  He is a good big brother.  He can be hard on his sister at times, but he is so protective of her when the are away from us..., so we hear anyway. :)  We love  you Mason!

Summer Fun

Our summer has flown by!  I can hardly believe it's September and the kiddos are back in school.  Though I love the structure the fall brings, I sure do miss my kids and our fun summer days!  Here are a few of the highlights.  These are the only pictures I have from Mason's Lake Birthday Party with the fam.
Father's Day was towards the start of summer.  We are so lucky to have such a great Daddy!  Mason has been wanting to match his shirt and ties to Dan each Sunday.., how cute is that???
We played out a back of our house a lot!  We added a second circle swing underneath the apple tree and the kids would swing for hours.  They love being outside!
We also embarked on our first family camping trip.  I was SO excited about this!  We have wanted to go camping for some time now, but I always get so nervous about the sleeping part or lack there of rather.  So we chose to head up to Midway for a quick over night camping trip.  It was a perfect trial run.  We're hoping to get a 2 day camping trip in here in a few weeks.

We spent some time up in Idaho with our favorite Idaho cousins!  We couldn't get Maya out of the river..., she just wanted to swim and swim.

A little jet skiing and tubing to make the trip complete.
Until next summer.....,

The First Day is HERE!

It's been a hard day!  Mason started kindergarten this morning.  Though he's been gone to the sitters and to preschool...., kindergarten at the 'BIG' school just makes him seem like such a big kid.., which he is!

I'm already counting down the days til the weekend comes!  We've had such a fun summer and I'm going to miss my kiddos lots!
