Maya turns 3!!!!

My baby girl is 3!  I can't believe it!  It's like I blinked and here she is not a baby any more!
Maya celebrated like any girl should...,  by having a weekend filled with birthday celebrations.....,  a Princess Pony Party, presents, games, cupcakes, friends, family and lots of FUN!.
Maya wanted a Pony Princess birthday party with 'friends, cupcakes, cookies and presents'. and so she got just that! Tiaras, wands, and ponies for all!
Mom made stick ponies for all the princesses at the party.  Thank you Pinterest for the pattern!
There was coloring of ponies and princesses when the guests first arrived.
Followed by strawberres, pizza and chips.., Princess Maya's choice!
Pin the tail on the pony came next.  Mom drew the pony on poster board and cut it out.
 Ending with presents
 And cupcakes!
 How cool are these cupcakes?!?!
This is Maya helping me make them the day before..., she LOVED every second of it.
And of course the princess went away with a princess bag.  Purple.., Maya favorite color.

Sunday, February 26th, her actual birthday, Maya woke up to more presents from mom, dad and her brother Mason.

Mason was a good help in opening her gifts.
We had family over for dinner that night and cake as well!

She loved it! A whole weekend all around her!  We love you Maya Isabella!

I came across this quote on one of my friend's blog.  I found my self reading it and then re-reading it several times.  I like it.  I like it a lot.  I want to live closer to these words.  Life is busy and crazy and at times over whelming.  And through out all this craziness, I find my wants and needs being blurred together at times.   Anyway, enjoy!

Learn to like what doesn’t cost much.
Learn to like reading, conversation, music.
Learn to like plain food, plain service, plain cooking.
Learn to like fields, trees, brooks, hiking, rowing, climbing hills.
Learn to like people, even though some of them may be different . . . different from you.
Learn to like to work and enjoy the satisfaction of doing your job as well as it can be done.
Learn to like the song of birds, the companionship of dogs.
Learn to like gardening, puttering around the house, and fixing things.
Learn to like the sunrise and sunset, the beating of rain on the roof and windows, and the gentle fall of snow on a winter day.
Learn to keep your wants simple and refuse to be controlled by the likes and dislikes of others.

Maya

During church this past Sunday, Maya's nursery teacher found me in the hall and said, 'I need to to talk to you about Maya'.  My heart just sank.  I thought for sure there was a problem and she had done something wrong.  The teacher began to explain that in her class that day she was teaching about the first vision.  She told all the kids that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father.  Maya then gasped and said, 'he saw Heavenly Father!'  She was in complete amazement.  The teacher went on to say, 'yes, he did and he saw Jesus Christ.'  Maya gasped and her eyes grew big.  The teacher then said, 'And this is a picture of Joseph Smith when he saw them.'  She showed the kids, including Mays, a picture of the first vision.  Maya again gasped.  Then Maya said, 'Someone had a phone and took a picture of it!'.  I so love this little girl!
