Grandma and Grandpa's House

We loved our visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house. the kids adored them and had such a great time playing and snuggling with them both. We were sad to leave, but we are excited to know that they are down to their last 3 months as Temple President. YEAH! They'll be home soon!.

ZANCILLA - Ice Cream in the town of Zancilla is a delicacy. They have rows of outside ice cream stores with all flavors including tuna and burnt milk. I tried it and it was NOT my favorite!

I was so sad that our camera died here and that this is the only photo I have of Mason and the fire trucks. We walked up to the fire station one afternoon. Mason was in heaven. The fire fighter there was so great. He got a hat for Mason to wear and let him crawl around the trucks. he even brought out a stuff dog toy for Mason to play with. This was hands down Mason's high light of the trip.
This kid could run all day long and not be tired
Ohhh.., the Chocolate factories in Oaxaca. I had no idea they were such an incredible place. Since our first visit, we've seen shows on the Food Channel talking about the Oaxacan chocolate and moles they make. Love it!
This is the guy actually grinding up our cacao beans into chocolate.

Maya before and after her walk to the bank with Daddy and Grandpa.Ox and donkeys were all the over the side of the road. You need to ask Mason what a donkey says. It's so cute. He'll shake his little head back and forth and make a donkey like sound. he cracks me up.

Grandma was so nice to watch both kid while Dan and I went downtown one day to the markets. Santa Domingo Cathedral is one of my favorite there int he city.
Mason loved playing in Grandma's kitchen cabinets. After looking most of the morning for his sandals, Grandma finally found them here. Isn't this the right place for them??? Right by the zip lock bags????
Baths in the kitchen sink were the only way. Maya, as always, loved her bath! She smiled and coo-ed at Grandma.
Mason, of course, saw Maya in the sink taking a bath and had to get in all well.
And if you can believe it.., this is our little guy during his first visit to see his grandparents. Out true little Mexican...., outside with fly swatter and in a diaper.
With Mason's 'water butt' as we affectionately refer to the parasite he caught..., his little bum was so sore. When we were home, we let him air out a little.., and it seemed to help.
Maya tries her first solid food...., applesauce.
I think she liked her fingers more than the actual applesauce. The Baby Hilton returns for Maya to sleep in..., only this time it's in pink form. This was Mason sleeping in the Baby Hilton when he was Maya's age. Does it crack you up how both kids sleep the same.., faces covered!

Looks like a lot of fun...except the traveling over there! I think the chocolate place would have been the highlight of my trip! Is Mason the only lucky one to get "water butt"?
